This site is dedicated to the teaching profession, to those who labour at The Chalkface.

In the next 2 to 3 years, a huge number of teachers in the UK will be introduced to the World Wide Web through training funded by the Government. Many have limited expertise in or exposure to ICT.

We are a group of teachers who want to provide easy access to the Internet through a Web Site dedicated to teachers - catering for professional and personal interests.

Aim Statement The Web Site has three aims.

1. ACCESS
We aim to provide a useful, informative and valuable reference for teachers. The site will give easy access to other Web Sites of interest, including those that offer goods, supplies and services.

2. COMMUNICATION
A number of forums will be established. Topics of interest will be highlighted, especially current news and issues.
We believe passionately that the views of the teaching profession - informed by years of dedicated professional service - must be given a higher profile. It is time that we were listened to !

3. SERVICES
We will provide access to a number of useful services, including Finance (Pensions, Mortgages, Insurance and Investment) and Travel. In due course we will provide a job-finding service.
We are not developing this site as yet another initiative to be thrown at the teaching profession. This is a service for teachers- its organic growth will be determined and driven by your input.
